Detroit: So, Dan Campbell, the head coach of the Lions, is feeling pretty good about David Montgomery’s chances of coming back for the playoffs. He mentioned that Montgomery is on track to return for the divisional round after dealing with an MCL injury.

Initially, it looked like Montgomery might be done for the season, but he decided to skip surgery and focus on rehab instead. That’s a smart move, right? It gives him a shot at playing when it really counts.

The Lions are sitting pretty with a bye in the wild-card round, thanks to being the NFC’s top seed. They’ll face the lowest-seeded team that wins in the wild-card round, which could be any of the Rams, Vikings, Commanders, or Packers. The game is set for January 18 or 19.

While Montgomery was out, Jahmyr Gibbs stepped up big time. He had three straight games with over 100 rushing yards, totaling 365 yards and five touchdowns. Not too shabby for a backup, huh?

Montgomery had a solid season before his injury, racking up 775 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns. He also caught 341 yards worth of passes.

Now, about Aidan Hutchinson, the pass rusher who broke his leg earlier in the season. His return seems unlikely, but he’s aiming for a comeback if the Lions make it to the Super Bowl. Campbell thinks Hutchinson will be out until next season, but he wouldn’t be surprised to see him back on the field in February.

“If anyone can bounce back, it’s Aidan,” Campbell said. Sounds like the Lions are keeping their hopes up!
