Lions Part Ways with Linebacker David Long After Short Stint
The Detroit Lions have waived linebacker David Long after a brief time with the team, following his signing to the active roster last week.

Long joined the Lions’ practice squad just before Week 12 when Alex Anzalone got hurt. They bumped him up to the active roster a week later.
During his time, he played in five games and even started one. He was on the field for 70 defensive snaps and 58 on special teams, racking up seven tackles and a fumble recovery.
Before joining the Lions, he played eight games with the Dolphins, starting six of them. The Lions also brought back wide receiver Maurice Alexander to their practice squad.
