Ottawa: So, there’s been a bit of a stir with the Liberal Party. A spokesperson mentioned they’re ready to kick out any “fraudulent profiles” from their voter list. This comes after some folks decided it’d be funny to register their pets to vote, using silly names and even listing addresses like the Prime Minister’s place or the Chinese embassy.
Today, party leaders are huddled up, figuring out the rules and timeline for the leadership race. This whole thing kicked off when Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced he’d be stepping down. It’s a big deal, and they want to make sure everything’s in order.
Years back, the Liberals made it easier for people to join the party and vote in these elections by dropping membership fees. But now, some MPs are saying it might be time to tighten things up a bit, especially after hearing about foreigners voting in local races.
Lund, the spokesperson, assured everyone that they’ll be cleaning up the voter rolls before the leadership vote happens. He even took to social media to call out these ridiculous attempts at fraud.
He said the national party secretary has the power to remove these fake registrations and will do so well ahead of the vote. It’s all about keeping things legit!
