Letter: Travesty That Flat Scheme Has Been ‘Foisted on Romsey’
Residents express outrage over a controversial flat scheme approved in Romsey
Romsey, Hampshire, Flat Scheme, Planning, Conservation
Romsey: So, there’s this big fuss about a flat scheme that’s got everyone riled up. People are scratching their heads, wondering how the planning officers even thought this was a good idea. Seriously, what were they thinking?
It’s wild that the conservation officer initially said no, but then changed their mind after some minor changes. Like, how does that even happen? It feels like something’s off.
During the appeal, folks thought the Inspector would see how this development would clash with the historic Manor House and the surrounding area. But nope, the report just brushed off those concerns and sided with the developers.
And get this: the whole inquiry fell apart when TVBC pulled their objections, and then Churchill just dropped their cost claims. Doesn’t that seem a bit sketchy? It definitely raises some eyebrows.
What’s really sad is that many people in Romsey don’t even realize how this ugly block of flats is going to change the look of their town. It’s a real shame.
