Leeds: The Leeds United Foundation just gave a signed Unlocking Potential shirt to Beeston Primary School. This was to celebrate their involvement in a cool community program.

The Unlocking Potential program is all about getting kids involved in sports. It teams up the club’s charity with the NFL Foundation UK and the San Francisco 49ers. They’re aiming to reach 1,000 kids aged 11-20 in schools across the city in the first year.

To kick things off, they held a special event at Elland Road. Three schools joined in, and Beeston Primary brought over 90 students along. They’re one of 15 key primary schools helping to roll out this program.

Bethan Tidey, the Senior Deputy Headteacher at Beeston, shared how excited they are. She said the kids and staff had a blast at the launch, playing flag football and doing team-building activities. They’re really looking forward to working more with the Leeds United Foundation.

Michael Kinsey, who’s in charge of partnerships at the Foundation, expressed how great it was to have Beeston Primary at the launch. He mentioned that they’ve collaborated with the school for years and that it was a privilege to let nearly 90 kids try out flag football.

As a thank you, they presented Beeston with a signed Leeds United shirt. Michael emphasized that Beeston and other South Leeds schools will play a big role in the program over the next three years, and they can’t wait to offer them new opportunities.
