Antrim: The tragic accident happened on Thursday morning. Lee McCormick, a 53-year-old from Ballymena, lost his life in a crash involving a motorbike and a lorry.

The collision took place on Steeple Road, near the Crosskennan Road junction. Emergency services rushed to the scene shortly after 9:34 AM.

Inspector Cherith Adair from the Police Service of Northern Ireland shared that they received a report of the crash at around 9:35 AM. Sadly, Lee, who was riding the motorcycle, died at the scene due to his injuries.

The road was closed for several hours but has since reopened. Police are still investigating and are asking anyone with information or footage to reach out.

Local SDLP councillor Roisin Lynch expressed her condolences to Lee’s family and friends. She mentioned how devastating it is to lose someone so suddenly and urged anyone who can help the police to come forward.

It’s a tough time for the community, and thoughts are with everyone affected by this tragedy.
