Los Angeles: So, LeBron James won’t be playing against the Timberwolves on Friday night. He’s dealing with some soreness in his left foot. It’s been a bit of a rough week for him, as he’s also been away for personal reasons.
The Lakers announced he’s officially out for the game. This foot issue started after their game against the Miami Heat last week. He even missed the win against Portland on Sunday because of it.
Lakers coach JJ Redick mentioned they need to be careful with LeBron’s minutes. He said it’s important to think about how many games they’re playing and the toll it takes. Giving him some rest now seems like a smart move.
LeBron has talked about wanting to play all 82 games this season, but Redick hinted that might not be the best plan for him or the team. So far, he’s been averaging 23 points, 8 rebounds, and 9 assists this season, which is pretty solid.
On the bright side, it looks like Austin Reaves might be back after missing five games due to a pelvic bruise. The Lakers have another game on Sunday against Memphis, so if LeBron sits that one out too, he could get almost two weeks off before their next game.
