Los Angeles: Christmas has long been a big deal for the NBA. It’s like their Super Bowl day. But lately, the NFL has been crashing the party, and the NBA isn’t thrilled about it.
After the Lakers beat the Warriors on Christmas, LeBron had something to say. He loves the NFL, no doubt, but he made it clear that Christmas belongs to the NBA. He even brought it up during his postgame chat on ESPN.
“I love the NFL. I love the NFL. But Christmas is our day,” he stated. You could feel the pride in his words.
The NFL, however, isn’t backing down. They’ve been scheduling games on Christmas, especially since it fell on a Monday last year. They claimed they wouldn’t do it if Christmas was on a Tuesday or Wednesday, but that’s changed. Last year, their Christmas ratings were through the roof, easily beating the NBA.
Now, it looks like the NFL plans to keep playing on Christmas every year, no matter what. So, the NBA might have to share the spotlight on their special day.
