Palm Beach: So, here’s the scoop. Finance Minister Dominic LeBlanc and Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly are down in Florida. They’re meeting with folks from Trump’s incoming administration.

LeBlanc’s office mentioned they’re there to chat about some serious stuff. They want to tackle issues like fentanyl trafficking and illegal migration. Plus, they’ll talk about Canada’s Border Plan.

There’s also a big concern about those potential 25 percent tariffs Trump has been threatening on Canadian goods. That could hit both Canada and the U.S. hard.

Since Trump won the election, he’s been calling Canada the “51st state” and joking about Prime Minister Trudeau being the “governor.” It’s all a bit cheeky, right?

LeBlanc’s spokesman, Jean-Sébastien Comeau, said they’re looking forward to building on previous talks. They had a chat with Trump’s “border czar” Tom Homan not too long ago, too.
