Victoria: Residents near the Grampians National Park are in a tough spot. A bushfire has exploded in size, going from about 7,600 hectares to over 28,000 overnight. It’s a serious situation.
People in Halls Gap, Lake Fyans, and other nearby areas are being told to get out now. The fire is moving fast, and conditions are getting dangerous. The VicEmergency warning is clear: leaving is the safest choice.
As of Saturday morning, the fire has reached Lake Bellfield, and the entire national park is closed. A relief center has been set up at the Alexandra Oval Community Centre in Ararat for those who need it.
Mark Gunning from the Horsham Incident Control Centre mentioned that they understand this is hard for many, but safety comes first. The fire is out of control and spreading into the Mt William plateau area.
Premier Jacinta Allan has also urged everyone around the park to evacuate. The fire is a serious threat, and the situation can change quickly. So, it’s best to stay alert and be ready to act.
