Liverpool: So, there was this learner driver who got a bit of a shock during a driving lesson. They were out on London Road with their instructor when they decided to pop into a shop for a quick errand.
But guess what? While they were inside, police officers on patrol spotted their car and handed them a parking fine. Talk about bad timing! The Liverpool Echo reported that the police were actually enforcing rules against cars parked on the footway and blocking the lane.
The police even shared the story on their Facebook page, saying they were out there making sure everyone followed the rules. They mentioned how both the learner and the instructor were dealt with for obstructing the lane and footway while the learner was just trying to grab something from the shop.
People had a lot to say about it online. Some were supportive of the police, like Irene Thurston, who thought it was about time the driving instructors followed the rules. Others, like George Edwards, felt it was unfair to target a learner driver when there were bigger issues elsewhere, like on Lodge Lane where cars were causing more trouble.
It’s a classic case of mixed opinions, right? Some folks think the police are doing their job, while others believe they should focus on bigger problems. Either way, it’s a reminder to always be careful where you park, especially when you’re still learning!
