Police found over 1,000 cannabis plants in a vacant property after a tip-off
Worcester, UK, Cannabis, Police, Organised Crime
Worcester: So, last night, the police stumbled upon a massive cannabis grow on Ombersley Road. It all started when someone noticed the place was left wide open and decided to give the cops a heads-up.
When the officers arrived, they found cannabis plants in all sorts of stages, plus vacuum-packed crops stashed away in ten different rooms, spread over three floors and even in the cellar. Talk about a serious operation!
Interestingly, no one was home when the police showed up, but it was clear that people had been living there. They even seized some mobile phones, but so far, no arrests have been made.
A spokesperson from West Mercia Police said they’re looking into this as part of a bigger investigation linked to an organized crime gang. They’re taking this seriously and have officers still on-site.
Pictures from the scene show rows of plants with windows covered up. It’s quite the sight! Tanya Beckett, the Safer Neighbourhood Inspector, mentioned they acted quickly on the public’s concerns and won’t tolerate illegal activities like this in the area.
She encouraged anyone with similar worries to reach out. It’s all about keeping the community safe and shutting down these illegal operations.
