South Devon: Police had a busy year in 2024, seizing over £300,000 worth of illegal drugs. They also took more than £100,000 in cash off the streets and arrested 97 people.
In addition to that, they helped protect over 50 individuals from organized crime. It’s clear they’ve been working hard to keep the community safe.
Officers responded to more than 13,500 emergency calls, averaging over 1,000 each month. Superintendent Hayley Costar, who leads several local police teams, praised her officers for their dedication.
She mentioned how proud she is of their achievements in making South Devon a safer place to live and work. But she also acknowledged that there’s always room for improvement.
As they look ahead to 2025, she reassured the community that police will remain visible and responsive. They want to ensure that victims of crime receive the support they need.
Costar encouraged everyone to keep reporting any suspicious activity. She emphasized that the police can’t do it alone and need the community’s help to stay informed.
By working together, they can make South Devon a safer place for everyone. It’s all about being the eyes and ears in the neighborhood when officers can’t be everywhere at once.
