Los Angeles: The Lakers just pulled off a big trade! They’ve snagged Dorian Finney-Smith from the Brooklyn Nets, and in return, they sent D’Angelo Russell, Maxwell Lewis, and three second-round picks. Plus, they picked up Shake Milton to help out.
Finney-Smith is a solid 6-foot-7 forward who’s been shooting well from three-point range this season. He’s averaging about 10 points and 4.6 rebounds per game, which is pretty decent. The Lakers have been eyeing him for a while, so this is a big win for them.
Now, the team has to figure out how to fit him into their lineup. Will he take over for Rui Hachimura or Max Christie? It’s going to be interesting to see how they mix things up. Finney-Smith has been a starter for a while, so he’s used to being in the game.
As for Russell, this trade ends a long wait for him. He was a key player when the Lakers made it to the Western Conference Finals, but his performance has dipped lately. He’s heading back to the Nets, where he had his All-Star moment back in 2019.
Lewis didn’t really find his groove with the Lakers and spent most of his time in the G-League. Milton, on the other hand, has been a bit of a mixed bag, averaging 7.4 points this season. He’s known for being a streaky shooter, so we’ll see how he fits in.
The Lakers are gearing up for their next game against the Cavaliers, who are currently the top team in the league. It’s going to be a tough matchup!
