Friend of Lacey Lake Questions Circumstances Surrounding Her Disappearance
Lacey Lake’s friend raises concerns about police actions before her death
Lacey Lake, Tamerton Foliot, Devon, Plymouth, Police, Missing Person
Tamerton Foliot: A friend of Lacey Lake is really questioning what happened during the search for her. She insists that police checked a caravan just a day before Lacey’s body was found there.
Lacey, only 24, was discovered in a caravan near Linton Close on January 7, just a day after her friend reported her missing. The friend had been worried about Lacey’s well-being over the weekend, saying it was unusual for her to go silent.
According to reports, the police considered Lacey’s case a ‘medium risk,’ which is why they didn’t make a public appeal for help. On the evening of January 7, the police confirmed they found a woman’s body, but they said the death was unexplained and not currently suspicious.
The friend, who wants to stay anonymous, shared that she and Lacey had been close for six years. Lacey had moved to Plymouth from Doncaster when she turned 18 and had been living with friends before moving into a caravan nearby.
She last saw Lacey on Friday and thought she would be back by Saturday evening. But when she didn’t hear from her, she started to worry. Lacey had sent some odd messages that didn’t sound like her at all, which raised alarm bells.
On Monday morning, the friend realized Lacey was missing and called the police. She had received messages over the weekend that didn’t make sense, and when she checked the caravan, Lacey was nowhere to be found.
After some back and forth with the police, the friend went to a place in Stonehouse where Lacey had been over the weekend. There, she found a guy who looked hurt and claimed he had put Lacey in a taxi. He even handed her Lacey’s clothes, saying she had been sick on them.
Feeling uneasy, the friend called the police again, and they came to search the caravan. But when they arrived, the friend was shocked to find Lacey’s body inside. The police had searched the same spot just the day before.
Now, the friend is left feeling confused and frustrated. She knows Lacey better than anyone and believes something is off about the whole situation. The police have said they’re treating the death as non-suspicious, but the friend is not convinced.
As the investigation continues, the police have referred the case to the Independent Office for Police Conduct due to their previous contact with Lacey. The friend just wants answers and feels like there’s more to this story.
