New York: So, the Knicks are shaking things up a bit. They’ve brought back Landry Shamet after a short break. His agent spilled the beans to SNY’s Ian Begley on Sunday.
To make room, they waved goodbye to Matt Ryan. It’s a bit of a surprise, but that’s how it goes in the NBA.
Shamet, who’s 27, first joined the Knicks back in September. But after a shoulder injury in a preseason game against the Hornets, he was let go in October.
After that, he was picked up by the Westchester Knicks, the team’s G League affiliate, during the G League Draft.
In his preseason games with the Knicks, Shamet showed some promise, averaging 10.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in about 22 minutes of play.
Last season, he played for the Washington Wizards, where he averaged 7.1 points in just under 16 minutes. It’ll be interesting to see how he fits back into the Knicks’ lineup.
