New York: Recently, Mikal Bridges hosted three single mothers and their families at Madison Square Garden. They got a special treat, watching the Knicks warm up before the game against Toronto from a private box. The Knicks won, and Bridges scored 14 points, but it was the time spent with those families that really touched him.

Bridges shared that he grew up with a single mom, so he understands the challenges they face. He wanted to show his appreciation for their sacrifices. Through the Garden of Dreams Foundation, he not only gave them a memorable night but also surprised them with 55 gifts to cover their holiday wish lists.

Just two days later, Bridges lit up the court, scoring 41 points in a thrilling Christmas Day game against the Spurs. His performance was crucial, especially since his teammates struggled with their shooting. He really stepped up when it mattered most, helping the Knicks come back from an eight-point deficit.

Bridges’ impressive game earned him a spot in the Knicks’ record books for the third-highest scoring total on Christmas Day. He’s been on fire this December, averaging 21 points and shooting 56% from the field. This is a big turnaround from his earlier games, where he struggled to find his rhythm.

His teammate, Josh Hart, always believed in him. Hart knew Bridges would bounce back, saying that every player has ups and downs throughout the season. He’s proud of Bridges for putting in the work and proving the doubters wrong.

Coach Tom Thibodeau also praised Bridges, noting how he keeps improving. He brings so many skills to the team, making it hard to box him in. His ability to run the floor and create opportunities is a huge asset for the Knicks.

On Wednesday, the Knicks showed their depth again. With Jalen Brunson off his game, Bridges took charge. This season, the team doesn’t rely solely on Brunson’s scoring, which is a nice change from last year.

Hart had a standout game too, contributing 12 points and 12 rebounds. His hustle and energy were key in sealing the win. The Knicks also got a boost from OG Anunoby, who effectively defended Wembanyama in the final minutes.

Thibodeau highlighted Anunoby’s unique skills, noting how versatile he is on defense. His quickness and anticipation make him a valuable player, and he can guard anyone on the court.
