Kirklees: So, it looks like Kirklees Council has put out a heads-up about bin collections getting messed up because of the snow. They’ve had to cancel them, which is a bummer.

They shared on social media that their bin trucks couldn’t make it out today. Apparently, they tried to start early, but the snow made it too risky to keep going.

If your bin was supposed to be picked up today, just leave it out. They’re planning to collect it in the next few days. Also, if you’ve got extra cardboard lying around, it’s best to bring it back inside to keep it dry.

They’ll keep everyone posted if anything changes. This isn’t the first time, either. Some collections were already on hold a few days ago in areas like Netherton and Honley.

On a brighter note, the Household Waste Recycling Centres in Dewsbury and Huddersfield are still open, but others are closed. The council’s teams are working hard to keep the main roads clear.
