King’s Lynn: Bridget Wells, a well-known fundraiser, has just handed over her last cheque. After more than 25 years of hard work, she’s decided to step back from her charity efforts.

Bridget, who’s 70 and from Gaywood, has raised an incredible £75,000 since she started in 1998. Her final donation was £5,000 for Brain Tumour Research, which she raised through book sales and other activities.

Last month, she presented that cheque, marking the end of an era. Bridget has been recognized for her efforts, even winning awards like the Local Heroes’ 2024 Fundraiser of the Year.

She’s done so much for over 15 charities, including Cancer Research UK and Macmillan Cancer Care. It’s amazing how her fundraising has made a difference in so many lives.

Bridget has also taken on some serious challenges, like running marathons and cycling long distances. She even swam for two hours to raise money for cancer care. Talk about dedication!

Now, she’s looking forward to spending more time with her husband, Clive, who turns 70 soon. Bridget wants to thank everyone who supported her along the way. It’s been quite a journey!
