Sacramento: So, Mike Brown just got the boot as head coach of the Kings after only 31 games this season. Can you believe it? He had a 13-18 record and just signed a three-year extension six months ago.

When reporters asked other coaches for their thoughts, Denver’s Michael Malone didn’t hold back. He was fired by the Kings back in 2015, so he knows the drill. He said he wasn’t shocked, but it still stings.

Malone mentioned, “No class, no balls,” about the Kings’ decision. Ouch! That’s pretty harsh, right? He’s been there, so he gets how tough it is to be an NBA coach. Wins go to the players, but losses? They fall on the coach.

Jordi Fernandez, the current coach of the Brooklyn Nets, also weighed in. He used to be an assistant under Malone and said Brown is one of the best in the business. He was really bummed about the news, especially since Brown was Coach of the Year just a year and a half ago.

Rick Carlisle, the Pacers coach, was also taken aback. He called Brown a standard bearer for integrity in coaching. It’s wild how quickly things can change in the NBA.

Brown had a great run, turning the Kings around from a 30-52 record to 48-34 and a playoff spot. It’s hard to believe he’s out after that kind of success.
