As the abuse continued, Kiena felt like she was losing her mind. She ended up in the hospital, but when she returned home, the cycle of emotional and physical abuse resumed. She felt like a victim but was made to believe she was the problem.
In court, the jury saw distressing footage of Kiena after one of the attacks. She was terrified that Wellings would take their daughter away from her. It’s a heartbreaking reminder of the impact of domestic violence.
Wellings is set to be sentenced soon, and Kiena’s story serves as a tragic reminder of the realities many face in abusive relationships.
