Bispham: A shocking video has emerged of Ryan Wellings, who was charged with manslaughter, making light of Kiena Dawes’ tragic death. Just an hour after leaving the police station, he posted a clip where he rants and drinks prosecco.
In the video, Wellings, 30, is seen wearing sunglasses and singing while driving. He even blames Kiena’s mother for her daughter’s death, showing a complete lack of remorse. This comes after Kiena, 23, took her own life following years of abuse from him.
Kiena left behind a heartbreaking note saying she felt “murdered” and that Wellings had “killed” her. Despite being found not guilty of manslaughter, he was convicted of assault and controlling behavior towards her.
The court heard how Wellings had a history of abusive behavior, exploiting Kiena’s mental health struggles. Their relationship, which started off as a whirlwind romance, quickly turned into a nightmare filled with violence and threats.
On the day of her death, Kiena left her baby daughter with a friend before driving to a railway line where she ended her life. Her note detailed the pain she endured, stating, “I fought hard… Ryan Wellings killed me.”
Wellings, who will be sentenced soon, continues to deny responsibility, claiming he was sleep-deprived and under the influence when he posted the video. The whole situation is just heartbreaking and highlights the severe impact of domestic abuse.
