San Francisco: So, the NBA is shaking things up again with the All-Star Game, and not everyone is thrilled about it. Kevin Durant, Anthony Davis, and Devin Booker are pretty vocal about their dislike for the new format.
Adam Silver thought it was time for a change. The All-Star Game has been more about avoiding injuries than actually playing, making it a bit of a snooze-fest. Last season, the score was a wild 211-186, which says a lot about the lack of defense.
This year, they’re trying something different. Instead of the usual East vs. West, they’re splitting the 24 All-Stars into three teams of eight. They’ll even have a mini-tournament with games to 40 points. Sounds fun, right? Well, not for everyone.
Durant didn’t hold back. He straight-up said he hates the new format. He thinks they should just go back to the classic East-West setup. And honestly, he’s not alone in that opinion.
Booker chimed in too, saying he prefers the nostalgia of the old format. He likes the idea of wearing team jerseys and keeping things traditional. It’s like a trip down memory lane for him.
Even Anthony Davis isn’t a fan. He’s willing to give it a shot but isn’t too optimistic about it. He’s curious to see how it plays out this year.
The new setup has the same number of All-Stars as before, but now they’ll be drafted into teams by some familiar faces from the Inside the NBA crew. It’s a fresh take, but will it really bring the excitement back? Only time will tell.
With how these guys have been playing, they’ll likely be in San Francisco for the All-Star Game. It’ll be interesting to see if their opinions change once they hit the court.
