Kentucky, London, Doug Harless, Police Shooting, Wrong Address
London: So, there was this really tragic incident in Kentucky. Police accidentally shot a guy named Doug Harless while trying to serve a warrant at the wrong house. It’s just heartbreaking.
Doug, who was 61, got shot on December 23. The police were supposed to go to 489 Vanzant Road, but they ended up at 511 Vanzant Road instead. Can you believe that?
According to the audio from dispatch, they kept repeating the right address, but somehow still went to the wrong place. It’s just a mess.
When the police arrived, they said Doug pointed a gun at them, which led to the officer firing. But initially, they didn’t mention he was armed. It wasn’t until days later that they said he had a firearm.
Neighbors are in shock. They describe Doug as a quiet, humble guy who never bothered anyone. One neighbor, Carl, said it really hurts to think something like this could happen to such a good person.
They even caught the whole thing on their security camera. Carl mentioned that the police were banging on the door and shot Doug almost immediately after getting in. It all happened so fast.
Now, Kentucky State Police are looking into the footage, and the whole situation is under investigation. It’s just so sad for everyone involved.
