Oldham: Kemi Badenoch is really pushing for a national inquiry into the UK’s rape gangs scandal. She believes it’s high time someone in charge connected the dots after all the trials happening across the country.

Interestingly, Elon Musk jumped into the conversation, calling out Sir Keir Starmer for not addressing the issue when he was head of the Crown Prosecution Service. Musk didn’t hold back, saying Home Office minister Jess Phillips should be in prison for ignoring Oldham Council’s request for an inquiry.

It’s worth noting that the Tories also turned down the inquiry back in 2022. Now, Oldham is planning to start its own investigation, following in the footsteps of Rochdale, Rotherham, and Telford.

Reform UK leader Nigel Farage had some strong words for Badenoch, saying, “Talk is cheap.” He pointed out that the Conservatives had 14 years to get an inquiry going while in power.

He added that the establishment has let down the victims of grooming gangs at every level. The Independent Inquiry into Child Sex Abuse even labeled this issue an “epidemic” in its final report from 2022, which looked into organized groups convicted between 2010 and 2014.

On the other hand, Labour is stepping up, claiming they’re working on strengthening the law to ensure that child abuse crimes are reported and investigated properly.
