Emily has been nominated for the Learner of the Year award. This is part of the Luminate National Apprenticeship Awards. She’s excited about the recognition.

She said, “I am very pleased to have been put forward for this award. It shows my hard work and perseverance has been noticed.”

Byworth Boilers is proud of her achievements. Suzanne Rutherford from the company said, “Emily is achieving great things in welding, a field often dominated by men.”

She added, “Emily’s dedication and talent inspire young girls to consider STEM careers.” The company hopes this nomination encourages more young people in the community.

Emily’s mentor, Alisha Bell, also praised her. She said, “Emily is a role model for women in welding. Her passion and skill are impressive, especially at the start of her career.”

Byworth Boilers has a strong reputation. They are one of the leading manufacturers of industrial boilers in the UK. In 1991, they won a contract for four steam boilers at the Royal Albert Hall.

Recently, they received funding from the Keighley Towns Fund to buy new equipment. This helps them increase capacity and improve productivity.

Last year, former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak visited the factory. He praised the company for helping young people gain valuable skills and secure good jobs.
