Dunfermline: Julia Hart wants to change some units on Chapel Street. She has applied to Fife Council for planning permission.

Julia runs the Julia Hart Skin and Laser Clinic on Chalmers Street. She’s looking to expand her business into a larger space.

If approved, the changes will affect the units at 19-27 Chapel Street. This area is close to the Dunfermline Bus Station.

The plans include altering the commercial units at 23 and 25. They also propose a partial change of use for the upper flat rooms at 27 into a skin clinic.

Additionally, there’s a plan to remove a rear extension from the building.

The application mentions that unit 19 was a food store, 21 was a record shop, 23 used to be a newsagent, and 25 was a pizzeria.

Julia’s clinic offers treatments for aging signs and skin conditions. These services aim to improve clients’ overall wellbeing.

She has noted a rise in “corrective” treatments for clients who had procedures done elsewhere. Julia supports safer practices in the aesthetic industry.

Her business is regulated by Healthcare Improvement Scotland. However, she points out that most of the aesthetic industry lacks regulation.

Julia backs the government’s plans to license all aesthetic treatment providers. A public consultation is open until February 14 to gather opinions on improving client safety.
