New York: The Jets are on the hunt for a new head coach, and they just wrapped up an interview with Josh McCown. He used to play quarterback for them back in 2017-18, so he knows the team well.
Right now, McCown is the quarterbacks coach for the Vikings. He joined them before the 2024 season and has been doing a great job helping Sam Darnold, his old teammate, hit some impressive career highs.
Before this, McCown kicked off his coaching career with the Panthers in 2023, where he helped rookie quarterback Bryce Young, the top pick that year, get settled in.
At 45, McCown has had quite the journey. He was drafted by the Cardinals in 2002 and played for 12 different teams over 16 years. He wrapped up his playing days with the Texans in 2020, finishing with over 17,000 passing yards and nearly 100 touchdowns.
The Jets are also looking at a bunch of other candidates for the head coach position. They’ve either interviewed or requested interviews with several big names, including Joe Brady from the Bills and Brian Flores from the Vikings.
