Orlando: So, John Wall is giving broadcasting a shot! He was at the G League Winter Showcase, trying to get back into the game. This year, though, he didn’t even step on the court.

Instead, he made his debut as an analyst for a couple of games. It’s pretty cool because he hasn’t officially retired yet, but he knows he needs to think about what’s next. And hey, broadcasting seems to be a good fit for him.

Wall shared that he’s always critiquing himself and wants to improve. He loves talking about basketball, which is what he does when he’s chilling at home with friends and family. Sounds like a natural transition, right?

He got the idea from his kids and friends who always tell him to stop talking when they’re watching games together. So, going to TV where chatting is encouraged? Smart move!

He ended up broadcasting for five hours straight, only taking a short break. Wall broke down plays like a pro, sharing stories and insights. For instance, he recalled a time he had to go to the dentist after getting hit in the mouth during a game. Classic Wall!

At 34, he’s still in great shape and works out regularly. He’s definitely hoping for one more chance in the NBA. Wall was a five-time All-Star, but injuries have really taken a toll on his career.

He had to deal with some serious injuries, including surgeries on both knees and a torn Achilles tendon. It’s been tough, and he hasn’t played since January 2023. But he’s still got that fire in him.

Wall is keeping his options open. The broadcasting gig was just for one day, but he’s interested in more opportunities. In the meantime, he’s working out and hoping a team gives him another shot.

“It’d mean the world,” he said. “I want to finish on my own terms.” You can feel the passion in his words!
