Torrevieja: So, there’s this guy who got arrested in connection with the John George murder, right? His lawyer is saying he’s totally innocent and has nothing to do with it. The guy, 32, is from the Czech Republic and was picked up just hours after John’s body was found. But guess what? He got bailed out on Friday.

The judge said he’s being looked at as an alleged accomplice, which is a bit wild. It sounds like the police might still be on the hunt for the actual killer, who’s apparently still out there somewhere.

It came out that this arrested guy told the judge he feels like he’s being made a scapegoat. He’s been named on social media as a suspect, which can’t be easy. His lawyer, Manuel Ramon Rives, said the whole thing is because of his recent friendship with someone the police are after.

Rives insists there’s no solid evidence against his client. He’s really pushing the idea that “he isn’t involved in this.” Meanwhile, the other guy the police are looking for? No one knows where he is, and there’s chatter that he might have skipped town for the Far East.

Since John’s body was found under some lemon trees near Rojales, the Civil Guard has only confirmed this one arrest. A source close to the case said that’s the only one they’ve made so far.

As for the court stuff, the judge released the arrested man with some conditions. He has to check in at court every two weeks, hand over his passport, and can’t leave Spain. The investigation is still ongoing, and it could take a while to wrap things up.

John went missing back in December, and his family got worried when he didn’t catch his flight home. They even started a GoFundMe to help with the search. His brother and family traveled to Spain to help look for him, and they had a whole team of volunteers searching for him.

It’s been a tough time for the family. Billy, John’s dad, said it’s been heartbreaking. He believes his son was “lured to his death” and is preparing for more sadness when he sees John’s kids back in Belfast. The police haven’t shared what they think the motive was yet.
