Philadelphia: So, Joel Embiid is out again. This time, he’s dealing with a sinus fracture after getting hit in the face during a game. It’s a bummer because he’ll miss the game against Charlotte, and that makes it 18 games he’s missed this season. That means he can’t qualify for any postseason awards, which is a real drag.

The injury happened when Bennedict Mathurin from the Pacers accidentally caught him in the face while going for a rebound. Ouch! Embiid walked off to the locker room right before halftime, and it’s just tough luck for him.

People have been giving him a hard time this season, especially since he’s missed games for what was called “left knee injury management.” But come on, getting hit in the face and fracturing a bone is no joke. This is actually the third time he’s had a facial fracture in his career, which is pretty wild.

When he’s on the court, he’s been solid, averaging 22 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. Just recently, he dropped 31 points on the Bulls, showing he’s still got it when he plays.

And it’s not just Embiid who’s out. The 76ers will also be missing rookie Jared McCain, who’s out indefinitely with a torn meniscus. Plus, Caleb Martin is still sidelined with a shoulder injury. It’s a tough time for the team.
