Philadelphia: So, Joel Embiid had to leave the game against the Pacers after taking a hit to the face. It was just his second game back from a knee issue, which is a bummer.
He was walking to the locker room with only a few seconds left in the first half when he got caught by Bennedict Mathurin’s arm while going for a rebound. Ouch!
After that, he went down and didn’t come back. The 76ers said he’ll need more tests, which isn’t great news for the team.
This season, Embiid has played six games, missing some time due to knee management. He’s been averaging 22 points and 8.4 rebounds, so he’s definitely a key player.
It’s tough for the 76ers since their big three—Embiid, Paul George, and Tyrese Maxey—have only played together twice. They’re struggling with a 7-15 record, and if the playoffs started today, they wouldn’t even make it to the play-in.
If Embiid has to sit out longer, it’s just going to make things worse for the team. Fingers crossed he’s okay!
