Washington: So, Joe Manchin is making waves again. The senator, who just stepped down after 15 years, has some strong words about the Democratic Party. He’s now an independent, and he’s not holding back.

Manchin told CNN that the Democratic brand has become “toxic.” He feels the party has lost its way and can’t even call himself a Democrat anymore. That’s pretty intense, right?

He’s pointing fingers at progressives, saying they’ve made the party too controlling. It’s like they want to dictate how people should live their lives. He’s not a fan of that approach.

Manchin also thinks the party is too focused on social issues, like LGBTQ+ rights, instead of basic stuff like jobs and pay. He’s worried that neither party is taking responsibility for the federal budget, which is a big deal.

And he didn’t stop there. He criticized Republicans too, saying they lack common sense on gun control and mass shootings. It’s like he’s saying both sides are missing the mark.

When asked about comments from a progressive congressman, he called them “completely insane.” That’s some serious shade being thrown!

He also mentioned Kamala Harris and her struggles during the election. He believes if you’re not true to yourself, it’s tough to win people over. He didn’t even say who he voted for, but he’s all about wanting the president to succeed.

Interestingly, Manchin thinks it’s time for a third party in the U.S. He’s calling it the American Party, aimed at moderates from both sides. He believes the center has the power to sway elections but feels both parties are stuck in their corners.

In a more serious chat on CBS, he slammed the current Congress for being the worst-performing ever. He thinks they’re all tied up in their own drama and not reaching out to work together.

Finally, he believes Trump has learned a lot since his first term and will understand his role better now. It’s a wild political landscape, and Manchin is right in the thick of it!
