Indianapolis: Joe Flacco has stepped in for Anthony Richardson four times this season. This week, he might get another chance to start.

It could even be the last time we see Flacco on the field as a starter. He hasn’t said he’s retiring, but at 39, you never know.

“I just try to stay in the moment,” Flacco mentioned. He gets asked a lot about how long he wants to keep playing, but he doesn’t have a clear answer.

The Colts are still holding out hope for Richardson, who’s been dealing with some back and foot issues and didn’t practice this week. Meanwhile, Flacco is ready and taking all the first-team snaps.

“Getting those practice reps helps me feel more comfortable going into the game,” he said, which is key for his 190th career start.

Flacco has hinted he’ll keep playing as long as a team wants him. Last season, he didn’t get a shot until late when the Browns picked him up. His performance in six games, including a playoff match, led the Colts to sign him as a backup and mentor for Richardson.

He’s been in the league for 17 seasons now. Whether he’ll make it to 18 is still up in the air.
