London: The Ministry of Justice is looking into Jake Farhi, a convicted murderer. This comes after reports that he recorded music about the 2008 murder of schoolboy Jimmy Mizen.

Jimmy was just 16 when he tragically bled to death at a bakery in Lee, south London. Farhi threw a glass dish that cut an artery in Jimmy’s neck. It was a horrific incident.

Farhi was sentenced to life in prison back in 2009, with a minimum of 14 years. Now at 35, he was released on license in June 2023. But now, things are getting serious again.

According to the Sun, Farhi is known as TEN, a drill rap artist. He hides his face with a balaclava in his music videos, which often have violent themes. It’s pretty shocking.

In one of his songs, available on platforms like Spotify and YouTube, he seems to reference Jimmy’s death. The lyrics are chilling, talking about violence and danger. It’s hard to believe someone would do that.

Another track has him boasting about seeing a man’s soul leave his body. It’s disturbing and raises a lot of questions about how this is allowed.

A spokesperson for the HM Prison and Probation Service said they’re taking this seriously and are investigating the content. They don’t take lightly anything that glorifies violence.

Margaret Mizen, Jimmy’s mother, expressed her shock. She said it’s hard to comment without knowing all the details, but if it’s true, it’s very sad for her family. She emphasized that Jimmy’s legacy of forgiveness and hope remains unchanged.

Interestingly, two of TEN’s songs have been played on BBC Radio 1Xtra, but not the ones that reference murder. The station didn’t know who he really was until now.

The BBC stated that they have strict guidelines and don’t glamorize violence. They’re looking into the lyrics that were brought to their attention.

Farhi was released by the Parole Board in May 2023. At that time, the Mizens hoped he wouldn’t pose a threat anymore. They’ve been working hard with the Jimmy Mizen Foundation to help young people in London escape violence.

Mr. and Mrs. Mizen were honored as MBEs in 2013 for their charity work. It’s a tough situation, and we’ll have to see how this investigation unfolds.
