New York: The Jets just finished chatting with Mike Borgonzi, who’s the assistant G.M. over at the Chiefs. They’re looking for someone to fill their G.M. spot, and Borgonzi seems like a solid candidate.
This guy’s got some serious experience. He’s been with the Chiefs since 2009 and has played a big role in their scouting and roster management. He’s helped build three Super Bowl-winning teams, which is pretty impressive.
Borgonzi started as a college scouting admin and worked his way up through various roles. He’s been the assistant G.M. since 2021, so he knows the ins and outs of the game.
Jets chairman Woody Johnson is really taking charge of this search. He’s brought in The 33rd Team to help find and vet candidates, which is a smart move.
So far, the Jets have also talked to a bunch of other candidates, including former G.M.s and executives from different teams. They’re casting a wide net to find the right fit.
