Chicago: So, Jayson Tatum just had an insane game against the Bulls! He dropped 43 points, grabbed 16 rebounds, and dished out 10 assists. The Celtics crushed the Bulls 123-98, and Tatum’s performance was just something else.
This was his first triple-double of the season and the third of his career. Can you believe he’s the first Celtic ever to hit at least 40 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists in a game? The last time a Celtic had a 40-point triple-double was Larry Bird. Tatum shot an impressive 16-of-24, including 9-of-15 from beyond the arc.
He actually started slow, only scoring three points in the first quarter. But once he found his rhythm, the Bulls had no chance. He lit it up with 13 points in the second quarter, 18 in the third, and finished strong with nine in the fourth.
After the game, he talked about how he finds his groove. He mentioned that it’s all about picking the right moments to shine, especially with such a talented team around him. Coach Joe Mazzulla praised Tatum too, saying he feels Tatum doesn’t get enough credit for how great he really is.
Even with all this talent, Tatum is still chasing that elusive MVP award. Right now, he’s got the fifth-best odds for 2025. Mazzulla thinks Tatum’s skills are often overlooked because he’s been doing this for so long and plays on a strong team.
After this game, Tatum is averaging 28.3 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 5.5 assists this season. He’ll have another chance to impress when the Celtics face the Orlando Magic on Monday night. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. ET!
