Washington: So, did you catch the game on Sunday night? Jayden Daniels, the Commanders’ quarterback, threw a touchdown pass right at the end of overtime against the Falcons. For most players, that would be a huge moment, but for Daniels, it’s just another day at the office.
Can you believe it? In just 16 games, he’s thrown a touchdown in the last 30 seconds of five different games. That’s a record no other quarterback has hit in a single NFL season!
This past Sunday was actually the second week in a row he pulled off a last-minute TD. He did the same thing against the Eagles the week before. And who could forget that Hail Mary he threw to win against the Bears? Talk about clutch!
Of course, it hasn’t all been sunshine and rainbows. He’s had a couple of tough losses too. Like that game against the Cowboys where he threw a touchdown with just 21 seconds left, but they missed the extra point and lost. And then there was the Eagles game where he scored with 28 seconds left, but they couldn’t recover the onside kick.
Even with those losses, what Daniels is doing as a rookie is pretty amazing. Honestly, it’s impressive even for a seasoned player. His knack for pulling off these late-game heroics is making waves in NFL history.
