Liverpool: So, Jamie Carragher was really not happy with Trent Alexander-Arnold after that game against Manchester United. It was a rough day for Trent, to say the least.
He had a tough time at Anfield, and it showed. Both of United’s goals came from his side, which is never a good look. Lisandro Martinez scored the first one, and then Amad got the equalizer late in the game.
Even though Liverpool scored twice, it ended in a 2-2 draw, leaving them six points clear at the top of the table. But all anyone could talk about was Trent’s performance.
Gary Neville pointed out that he was really struggling, and Roy Keane even joked that he might end up at Tranmere Rovers instead of Real Madrid. Ouch! Virgil van Dijk also looked pretty frustrated after one of Trent’s mistakes.
As for Carragher, he didn’t hold back. He said Trent was awful and suggested he might need to come off. And guess what? He did get subbed off in the 86th minute for Conor Bradley, who actually made a solid tackle right away.
There’s been a lot of buzz about Trent possibly moving to Real Madrid, especially after they made a £20 million offer that Liverpool turned down. Now, there are rumors about a big contract offer for him.
But Liverpool’s manager, Arne Slot, defended Trent, saying it was more about United’s quality than Trent’s performance. He pointed out that Trent usually plays well and that this game was just one of those days.
