San Francisco: LeBron James made history on Christmas Day as the Lakers beat the Warriors 115-113. It was a nail-biter, with Austin Reaves scoring the winning lay-up just before the buzzer.
With this win, LeBron became the NBA’s all-time leader in Christmas victories, racking up his 11th win in 19 games. Not too shabby for a 39-year-old!
Even without Anthony Davis, who twisted his ankle early in the game, the Lakers held their ground. LeBron scored 31 points and rallied the team, saying they had to step up without AD.
They were in control for most of the game, but the Warriors made a late push. Stephen Curry went off, scoring eight points in a row to tie it up. But Reaves had the last laugh with his clutch basket.
Reaves finished with a solid stat line of 26 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. Curry led all scorers with 38 points, hitting eight three-pointers and tying the Christmas game record.
In other games, Victor Wembanyama shined with 42 points for the Spurs, but they lost to the Knicks. Mikal Bridges scored 41 points, making it a memorable day for him too.
Meanwhile, the Timberwolves took down the Mavericks, who were missing Luka Doncic in the second half due to a calf strain. It was quite the Christmas for NBA fans!
