SANTA CLARA: So, Jake Moody had a rough night against the Lions. It was a tough loss for the 49ers, and Moody’s kicking was a big part of it. He missed two field goals and an extra point, which really hurt the team.

Coach Kyle Shanahan had backed him up before the game, but after that performance, he’s now looking at other options. Moody’s confidence is definitely shaken. He admitted it was one of the lowest points in his career.

Before his injury, he was doing pretty well, hitting 13 out of 14 field goals. But since coming back, he’s only made 10 of 18 attempts. That’s a big drop-off, and it’s clear he’s struggling.

Moody missed some long kicks, which can happen, but the extra point was a real head-scratcher. Shanahan mentioned that they’ll review the tape to see what went wrong with the snap and hold, but Moody said it was all on him.

He’s trying to keep a positive mindset, saying it’s all about the next kick. The 49ers probably won’t make any changes until the offseason, so he has a chance to turn things around before the season ends.

It’s a tough spot for him, and he could really use a boost in confidence right now.
