Jacksonville: So, the Jaguars just had a chat with Todd Monken, the offensive coordinator from the Ravens. They did it virtually, and it happened on Thursday night. Pretty cool, right?
Monken’s got another meeting lined up with the Bears on Friday. This was actually the seventh interview for the Jaguars as they look for a new head coach.
Before Monken, they spoke with a bunch of other candidates, including the Buccaneers’ Liam Coen and former Jets coach Robert Saleh. They’ve also chatted with some defensive coordinators from the Lions and Raiders.
And guess what? They’re not done yet! The Jaguars have asked to interview a few more folks, like the Vikings’ Brian Flores and the Bills’ Joe Brady.
Now, about Monken—he had a solid first year with the Ravens. His offense ranked first in yards and third in points. Before that, he was at the University of Georgia, where he helped them snag back-to-back national championships.
He’s got some experience under his belt, having been the offensive coordinator for the Bucs and the Browns too. Plus, he was a head coach at Southern Miss for a few years. So, he knows his stuff!
