Cincinnati: No one has snagged the Mega Millions grand prize yet, and Ohio players still have time to grab their tickets for the Christmas Eve drawing.

The jackpot is sitting at a whopping $970 million, with a cash option of about $439.9 million. That’s a lot of holiday cheer!

Since the game kicked off in 2002, there have been 13 Mega Millions jackpots won in December. Interestingly, only one was won on Christmas Eve, back in 2002, but that $68 million prize went unclaimed.

This jackpot has been growing since it was last won at $810 million in Texas on September 10. In the 29 drawings since then, over 21.4 million winning tickets have been sold.

These include 56 second-tier prizes of $1 million or more, spread across 24 states, from Arkansas to Wisconsin.

Mega Millions drawings happen every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. In Ohio and Kentucky, ticket sales wrap up at 10:45 p.m. So, don’t forget to get your tickets before then!

The winning numbers from the last drawing on December 20 were 2-20-51-56-67, with the gold Mega Ball being 19.

You can buy Mega Millions tickets at most local gas stations, convenience stores, and supermarkets until sales close on drawing night. Check the Mega Millions website for locations.

Tickets cost $2 each, and you can add a Megaplier for an extra buck to boost your non-jackpot winnings.

To win the grand prize, all six numbers on your ticket must match the winning numbers.
