West Kilbride: Ivybank Vets, which serves areas like Kilwinning and Kilmarnock, has donated £1,000 to the Ayrshire Rivers Trust. This money will help plant trees along the Mauchline burn as part of a restoration project.

The team at Ivybank Vets applied for a community grant from their parent company, IVC Evidensia. They wanted to promote sustainability in the area, and they believe the Ayrshire Rivers Trust is key to keeping local waterways healthy.

Lyndsey Ciarcia, a vet nurse at Ivybank, shared how proud they are to support this cause. She said their work with animals already helps the community, but this grant will make an even bigger impact on local waterways.

Ayrshire Rivers Trust, based near Mauchline, focuses on conserving and enhancing river environments. Carolyn Bryce, a biologist with the trust, expressed gratitude for the donation, saying it will significantly aid their river restoration projects.

They collaborate with various groups, including anglers and landowners, to engage the community in their efforts. The trust aims to benefit biodiversity and local communities through their initiatives.

IVC Evidensia, the parent company of Ivybank Vets, started its Community Grants Fund in early 2022. They plan to give out 300 grants this year and aim for 1,000 by 2025.
