In this series, Martin plays a farmer who’s dealing with some pretty dark issues in his rural community. He’s got a solid Welsh cast backing him up, and the show is directed by Marc Evans, who’s known for other hits like The Pembrokeshire Murders.
The cast includes some familiar Welsh faces, like Mark Lewis Jones, who you might recognize from Keeping Faith and Outlander. It’s shaping up to be quite the lineup!
So, what’s the scoop on Out There? It kicks off at 9 PM on Sunday, January 19, on ITV1, with six episodes lined up. You can also catch it on ITVX. The second episode will air the next night at the same time.
The plot revolves around Martin’s character, Nathan Williams, who’s trying to protect his farm and family from local drug dealers. It’s a gripping tale of how crime is creeping into the countryside, threatening everything he holds dear.
Nathan’s been through a lot, especially after losing his wife two years ago. He’s a single dad to his teenage son, Johnny, and he’s got to step up to keep his family safe from these gangs.
As he fights to reclaim his life, Nathan realizes that the peaceful countryside he once knew is now a battleground. He’s got to adapt and learn how to fight back against these new threats.
All the filming took place in Wales, showcasing some stunning locations. Martin loved being in the countryside, saying it felt like home. Carly-Sophia, another cast member, shared how special it was to film in her hometown of Port Talbot, making it a personal experience for her.
