Ottawa: So, Carter George was on fire at the World Juniors! The Canadian goalie not only snagged his second shutout but almost scored a goal himself. How cool is that?

He stopped 18 shots against Germany, helping Canada bounce back from a tough loss to Latvia. The game ended 3-0, and now Canada is tied with the USA in points. They’re gearing up for a big showdown on New Year’s Eve.

After a shaky start, Canada needed George to step up. They were only leading 1-0 for most of the game until a shot from Caden Price made it 2-0. With just over three minutes left, Germany pulled their goalie, and that’s when George saw his chance.

He caught a shot, dropped the puck, and went for it! It was close, but the puck just trickled to the side, leading to an icing call. George said he was feeling it, wanting to go for that goalie goal.

In the last moments, instead of trying again, he passed the puck to teammate Mathieu Cataford, who scored an empty-netter. So, George ended up with an assist and back-to-back shutouts. He’s really making a name for himself!

This guy is the only goalie with two shutouts in this tournament. He’s a prospect for the Los Angeles Kings, and his stats this season are looking solid. Canada and the USA are both sitting at seven points in Group A, and their upcoming match is going to be a must-watch!
