Manchester: So, there’s this couple, Richard and Susan Dandy, who just wanted to get back home after a short trip to Malta. But guess what? They got hit with a snowstorm at Manchester Airport, and it turned into a real hassle.

They were supposed to fly back at 6:30 PM on Monday, but their easyJet flight was delayed for over four hours. Then, to make matters worse, they were diverted to London Gatwick instead of landing in Manchester. They finally touched down in Gatwick around 1:30 AM on Tuesday.

EasyJet said they’d sort out transport for everyone, but Mrs. Dandy quickly found out that wasn’t the case. They ended up having to figure things out on their own, which was super frustrating.

After a couple of hours of sleep in a hotel, they had to catch a taxi back to Manchester at 1 PM. Mrs. Dandy figured they wouldn’t be home until at least 6 PM, making it a nearly 27-hour ordeal. Can you believe that? The flight from Malta to Manchester is only about three and a half hours!

She totally understood the weather issues but was really upset with how easyJet handled everything. They were told coaches would take them to Manchester, but that turned out to be a lie.

After landing, they waited over an hour just to hear that they should find their own way home. Mrs. Dandy even tried to book an Uber, but the driver canceled on her. They were stuck in the terminal for over five hours without any food or water. How ridiculous is that?

Eventually, they got a hotel room at the Hilton, but it was a rough night. They had to take time off work because of this mess. Mrs. Dandy was really vocal about how terrible the experience was, saying easyJet just wanted them to figure it out themselves.

EasyJet did apologize, saying they tried to minimize the impact of the airport closure, but it sounds like they really dropped the ball on this one.
