Manager Steve McKimm had to make some changes, missing two key players from their last win. Kiki Oshilaja was serving a ban, and Sonny Black was out with an injury. So, Cem Tumkaya and Matty Vigor stepped in, with Vigor returning from his own injury.
The game started with a disallowed goal for Hashtag, but they quickly found their rhythm. In the 14th minute, they scored first, with Misha Djemaili finishing off a great setup from Matthew Wooldridge.
Cray Valley had a few chances, with Funmi Shomotun and Vigor trying to find the net, but Hashtag’s goalkeeper Jack Giddens was on point. Just after halftime, Hashtag struck again, making it 2-0, and they kept the pressure on.
Despite some good saves from Cray Valley’s Max Ovenden, Hashtag added more goals, making it 4-0 before Cray Valley finally got one back. Freddie Parker scored, but it was too little, too late.
In the end, it was a match to forget for Cray Valley. They’ll be looking to bounce back when they face Bowers & Pitsea next Saturday.
