The driver, Errol Koch, rushed out to find the bus engulfed in flames. He quickly grabbed a hose, but the fire was too intense. He called the Metropolitan Fire Service for help.
They managed to put out the fire, but the bus was badly damaged. Thankfully, no one was on board at the time. Errol, who has been driving for the school for two years, said it was the first time he parked the bus in front of his house.
He found it strange that something like this happened, especially after living in the area for over 30 years without any issues. Despite the chaos, he managed to get the students to school the next day using another bus.
The school was in shock and is now thinking about boosting security measures. They want to ensure the safety of their students and staff.
Police believe the fire was deliberately set but think it was more of an opportunistic act rather than something planned. A neighbor reported hearing voices nearby when the fire started.
