Belfast: Just before Christmas, an ATR 72 aircraft had a rough landing at Belfast City Airport. It was operated by Emerald Airlines for Aer Lingus and was coming in during some pretty nasty weather.

The plane seemed to have a problem with its nose wheel when it touched down around 4 PM on December 22. Luckily, there were only four crew members on board, and no one got hurt. But the incident caused a real mess, with all flights being canceled or rerouted for the rest of the day, especially affecting those heading to and from Manchester Airport.

The next day, things got back to normal, but the aircraft is still sitting at the airport. The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) is looking into what happened, and they mentioned that it could take up to a year to finish their investigation.

Emerald Airlines said the flight was just repositioning with no passengers when it had that hard landing. They’re keeping quiet for now while the reviews are ongoing. So, it’s a waiting game for everyone involved.
